Postcards from Germany: Part ll

My PacMan hand trying to eat the Swiss Alps ...

The second day was crazy busy. We woke up early in Munich, drove around a bit, visited the Dachau Concentration Camp and then went an hour and half to the Alps. As you can see, we saw the Swiss Alps across the way and then we went up and conquered the German Alps. Then we drove 5 hours back to Frankfurt to spend the night and leave for Berlin the following morning. Again, crazy busy but it's been a lot of fun.

So here's our day ...

We woke up to a cold rainy day in Munich

Then we drove out to the Dachau Concentration Camp. I'm going to write out a description from a plaque that was hanging at the camp:

Dachau was one of the first concentration camps and is the only camp to have existed throughout the entire twelve years of Nazi rule.
In the early years it was the largest and most well-known concentration camp. The name "Dachau" soon spread fear and terror throughout Germany.

This is where roll-call was held...
There were 1,600 people to each of 20 barracks. I couldn't believe the amount of beds there were in one room.
The crematorium
Then we drove out to the Alps. Here's the cute little town that we visited.

And then we conquered the German Alps.
PS: I want to move to Munich.

Stay tuned for more ...
